OUR STORY

Klaōd Solutions LLC was founded on the values of Excellence, Integrity, and Service, and a compelling desire to serve the people of American Sāmoa. Klaōd’s founders were born in California, Louise in Oakland and Kenneth in Los Angeles, where their American Sāmoan parents migrated to in the 1960s. Louise developed a successful career as an executive with multiple Fortune 500 companies. Kenneth excelled with a global telecommunications leader.

In 2015, they relocated to American Sāmoa in hopes that their education and experience could be of benefit to their people. Their social entrepreneurial interests pushed them to create jobs and diversify American Sāmoa’s economy. For decades it had been supported by the tuna industry. However, robotics and lower labor costs elsewhere were jeopardizing the tuna industry on-island along with thousands of people’s jobs.

When the local telecommunications authority installed its new fiber optic network and went live with its new high-speed internet service in 2018, the couple hired a dozen home based customer service agents. They knew that business process outsourcing (BPO) was a global industry that their people could do well in if given the training and opportunity.

For context, if you’ve ever been fortunate to have a Sāmoan friend or visit a Sāmoan family, you know firsthand that their respect, hospitality, and service is unsurpassed. A Sāmoan will literally give you the shirt off their back. A Sāmoan will sleep on the floor and give you their bed to ensure your comfort. As their dinner guest, you will be served first with the best of all they have to offer.

Given these cultural norms, Louise and Kenneth knew that their people could excel as customer care specialists. With their English fluency, North American accent, and familiarity with American society, they knew they could provide the best BPO option for US companies.

So they built this US territory’s first contact center, in partnership with the American Sāmoa Department of Commerce. Partnering with an industry leading BPO company in Las Vegas, their people excelled in customer support roles for hotels in the states. To help more American Sāmoans transition to the BPO industry, they partnered with a company in Houston that provides world class customer service training specific to contact centers.

Klaōd Solutions LLC is positioned to be the best BPO solutions provider in the Pacific. What sustains Louise and Kenneth in this mission, is their love for their people and the desire to help more of them earn a living wage and develop job skills for today’s digital market.
